I've seen them in use in videos. They appear to do the same functions as the seat switches that are normally on the outboard side of the seat.

I’m sure I saw them in a UK review, but many people will worry about kids in the rear phaffing with them…

 

I'd be more worried about them putting their sticky little hands all over the windows.

 

What's the purpose of these switches? They seem hard to reach for the driver (needing to twist and contort to touch them)

 

But a lot easier than reaching across the seat to the opposite side. I suppose in that position they may also be helpful if there's ever a need to move the passenger seat from the back seat, like when parents ride in back with a baby seat.

It'll probably be on the Genesis GV60. In North America, Genesis models have these "walk-in assist" but not on Kia or Hyundai models that I'm aware of.

It's basically for the driver to move the front passenger seat forward when picking up a passenger (who is climbing into the rear seat). It could be useful for ride-share drivers who may want to adjust the seat forward if they're not carrying any front passengers too.

 

It's to allow the driver to control the passenger seat for either more entry space for the front passenger or legroom for the rear passenger. I've seen them on a number of Korean vehicles, for the Larger vehicles, you certainly wouldn't need to move up the seat for entry as the rear space is big enough already. It's more likely to provide more legroom for the rear passenger for that chauffeured driven feel, I think. My Optima has a lot of space inside and when my wife is driving, sitting behind her is like being in a 7 series rear seat. This is more of an Asian thing, this is why we normally don't see this on vehicles sold in our markers. I'm fairly sure this is on the Genesis vehicles in the US market.
