I finished my AHLS/IFS/welcome animation/Sequential rear turn signals earlier this week. It took way longer than expected, but everything is working perfectly. I do wish I could set something so the high beams would be in auto when the car started, but if it's possible, I haven't found how yet.

Also, FYI- I was able to program both modules using this (relatively) cheap Launch scanner. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D61QMD2M

One more NA EV6 'fixed'

IFS module is stuck in customs  so these are (still) naĂŻve for the time being. Though I did route the harness for both the AHLS and EU tail lamps w/ dynamic turn indicators. Will follow-up w/ before and after nighttime driving comparisons (e.g straight, curved, dipping roads) after the IFS arrives.

Pro tip for routing the aft harness: use a drawstring threader. I used it to snake wires through the firewall gland and down to the AHLS installation location. This trick minimized the risk of damaging existing wires since it's a nylon tool, and objectively sped-up the retrofit. (Routing the aux harness took me less time than all front-end work.)

Again, thank you to everyone who has built this wealth of knowledge while supporting us newcomers ❤❤❤

I’d say it’s definitely worth it but at the same time not absolutely life changing. It is pretty cool seeing them sweep around cars. I feel like EV6 lights are not as bright as they should be.

Do you think the brightness could be dropping off due to thermals or is inherently low? Like it could do w/ another n more watts lumens?

Looks great! I still want to do the full matrix setup but I've been pretty happy with the "dummy" projector lights for the last year and a half.
Thanks! I've been anxious since they arrived. The passenger's side was opened—but rebuilt and sealed really well—possibly to replace something. Fortunately both fully work and are an excellent upgrade.

I'm looking forward to having adaptive lights since my local roads are unlit, winding and woodland. Honestly routing the cables was not the devil I thought it'd be. Same with the bumper and lamps, tbh, like that took a tight two hours end-to-end.

Inherently low due to design.

My biggest gripe with the factory headlights was the width. Both high and low beam had a barely-ok amount of light, but were dangerously narrow. The projectors are better, but as Kyle said- they're not life changing.

I'd estimate they're maybe 20-30% wider? The high beams are probably a similar amount wider, but significantly brighter than the OE reflectors were. The IFS is great for a lot of the nighttime back road driving I like to do, but it doesn't actually seem to activate as much as regular "auto" high beams did. I think its just because the camera needs to be able to see what's being illuminated by each LED in the matrix so it can shut off the appropriate ones. If it's too bright in the area, it can't see what the matrix LEDs are lighting and just leaves them off.

That said- I'm still glad I did the upgrade, and glad I did the IFS. I love watching the LEDs turn off and on as cars come in and out of view, and having them light up everything around the cars in front of me, without ever shining into their car. My car has acceptable lighting now (though still not as good as my prior two German cars), and I do feel safer for it.

Oh, and as for AHLS- meh. It's working but I wouldn't miss it if it were gone, and IFS will work 100% fine without it. It's not changing the height as you go over dips or crests in the road, it's just slightly moving them down if the car is heavily loaded, or up if unloaded. It doesn't even do the cool auto-leveling test that other brands do when the car is turned on.

Not sure. They appear to be projector headlights.

Bigger question: do you have a source for the 20-pin plug(MG657201-5)? You can buy the lights but then won't be able to use them... unless you can make your own plug.
I finally got some free time to install the 92101CV1 headlights I purchased. The sequential turns and welcome animation have been tested and work as intended. Now I just need to run the final wiring into the cabin and I'll be all set.

Hi kyle11111, although I have a lease I've had enough with the headlights to want to upgrade. I can barely see at night especially with the car lowered. Do you know if these modules and adaptive functions would work with the Wind vs the GT-Line as I'm not sure whether the ADAS camera is different? Also any differences between EU and Kor headlights beyond the welcome function for purposes of this mod?
I can say with certainty, These upgrades do work on a Wind. Here's a link to my upgrade as well as a Pic of the cutoff.

Hi all! I recently purchased an ev6, please tell me the light of the matrix Euro-Korean headlights is the same or worse than on the model 3/y? My old 2012 model s shines better than the Kia, and my wife's model y shines much brighter than the Kia, as if it has no light at all! I want to improve this light.

FedEx made a surprise delivery of my other headlight which arrived intact along with the wiring. I went ahead and de-pinned the connecter in anticipation of tomorrow. The smaller pins were a little tricky to get out with my depinning tools so I had to resort to a sewing needle. The release tabs on these connectors are a lot smaller than the 90's Toyota's I'm used to working on lol.

The EU connectors are neatly marked with the corresponding numbers so it should be pretty simple to depin and pin them correctly but the numbers aren't the same between the US and EU plugs so take care to plug them in the correct place if you tackle this. I have some male pins leftover from another project that will work to bridge the turn signal actuator.

I'll likely tackle this tomorrow morning while it's still cool in the garage and report back. I made a little table of the connectors so it's easier for me to reference.

@kyle11111 my only question is for Position Lamp : ICU Junction Block (IPS5), I assume this maps to Position Lamp : ICU Junction Block (IPS10) for LH? I see these are swapped on the LH/RH EU pin layout but wasn't sure if it makes a difference.

Hello! I am looking for the pinout for the EV9 similar to what you have here so I can tap a sequential turn signal. Can anyone from the post help? I'm not sure where to find it and I've had issues creating an account on https://kiatechinfo.snapon.com/ to find it.

For those who used the OEM front wiring harness/loom from the world market, could you share the part number for that? I've been trying to source one from a wrecked unit or where there's one for sale but keep striking out when it comes to seeing that's there's a proper headlamp connector and I'm starting think I may be looking at the wrong part number (91890CV430 and others with variations of the last three numbers) Of course, I've found a few other connectors, in the range of $350-450 for a pair.

I don't know the part # but @128kil0 bought a harness off eBay (two pages back). Maybe that owner can help you find one.

Another route, is to contact a reshipper in Korea and have them try to track a set down for you, just the harness plug but maybe the whole thing. I had an extra set at one point and had done that.

Another source and part number for the 20 pin connectors - findpigtails.com / G56D20

I screwed up too and ordered what I thought what a single headlamp off naver, turns out, it was a full set. 🤬 If any of you are looking for a drivers side and wanting to save a few clams, shoot me a msg.
