Whoa hang on a second. Have you gone mad?

No I haven't and I don't know why but it seems the Meridian Audio in my car has gotten better. I don't know why. I don't know if it's because I've just gotten used to it but it seems that the front speakers have more clarity than before (and definitely when the car was brand new). Yes the subwoofer hasn't improved so I'm not completely off my rockers. The rear seat audio experience is so-so at best.

But for some reason, I have noticed that my songs seem to be of better quality in the last two months. I haven't changed my phone and, in fact, I'm using BT Audio a bit more often (because I started experiencing CarPlay disconnection issues with an Apple cable). I'll add my audio settings for people to try an replicate. I usually listen to pop music (1980s to now) but the ones that sound the best are the newer ones with better recording and those that I've downloaded from iTunes. I'm using an iPhone XR if that matters. The only difference is that I've had the second amp logic update in early June but I don't think it has anything to do with the sound reproduction, does it? (I thought it was something about noise... or maybe that was it - the amp was originally suppressing the noise excessively?)

  • Fidelity seems improved, particularly with the front speakers with accurate sound reproduction (one of the amp logic updates?)
  • Bass is still lacking from the rear subwoofer
  • Bass in the front door woofers seem improved (one of the amp logic updates?)
  • Rear seat audio experience is still "ok"

Yes, break in has something to do with that. My sub actually sounds pretty decent now after the break in and removing the rectangles on the cover. I'm actually quite happy with the sound system now. Not as good as the HK system in the Stinger(nothing else is) but I put it on par now with the HK system in the Telluride and Sorento. I also got the new amp update done today and have noticed no difference in sound quality
Agreed. I did not realize how amazing the Stinger speakers were until I switched to the EV6. The EV6 speakers have “gotten better“ for me. But not sure if that is mostly just getting use to them, speakers breaking in, or playing with the settings. In either case, its better than most cars.
To both:

My previous cars were Toyotas so they had JBL audio systems. While they were improved with each iteration, they didn't seem as good as some of the earlier Toyota JBL audio systems. The bass on those systems were also muddy so while you had good "booms", it wasn't clear. The Meridian one hits cleaner but obviously not as strong.
