Interestingly it asks you to leave the car on for the duration of the update to keep the battery charged. It took around 45 mins.

 

That is interesting. Did it ask so in the car dashboard?

The (original) US May update says you can turn off the car, IDK if the republished update did or not

 

Does anyone know if there are any bug fixes in this update or is the only change adding the route planner?

 

In the UK there is no advice to leave the car on “ready” for the update.

I followed the on screen guidance and the car updated while it was switched off.

 

Weird so you didn't get a message on the screen to say leave the car on?

Also the documentation on the website does say to leave the engine on but maybe thats for hybrids? But I did get the above message on the screen in the car. I have a MY23

Collected my car yesterday and saw that the software was a year old. So I've now updated to latest. I see that this update was released very recently.

Is this the "May" update? I thought that was USA only? Hence why I specified June and EU here. If I missed this, apologies.

Mine when I updated it this morning gave me two options. To update "now" or, when the car was off. I opted for "now" and saw that it did the same thing, saying leave the car running while it updated.

 

Is it the same updtade that renders some wirless carplay devices useless?

 

It hasn’t rendered my wireless CarPlay device useless- all working normally.

I have the TBox Plus 8GB RAM, 128GB Storage - a broadly similar device.

Hopefully our EV6 will be updated before delivery, which will be any day soon, but if not I'll download and update. Thank you for the reminder.

 

Mine arrived on Friday with June/July 2022 software, so you'll need to update it. @A_Camera

 

Since the car will be "prepared for delivery" (whatever that means) by the dealer, I don't know if the dealer will make the update or not. They will certainly polish up the car and check it out, so maybe they will update it also, but anyway, no big deal if I have to do it.

 

It took forever to download the update - even though I'm running 500Mb fibre and saving it to an SSD. Watching the download speed, it basically ran flat out for a second or two then twiddled its thumbs for a few minutes 🙄 And then it took ages to copy the files to the thumb drive - I guess it's doing some background processing as the transfer rate was again pants.

Anyway, the car asked if I wanted to start when it was turned off, or start immediately. I chose the latter, but then switched the car off out of habit as I got out. D'oh! Luckily it carried on fine and completed after about 30 minutes

 

Just a question concerning the updates. Are they cumulatives or incrementals ? My EV6 has a 2022 software. Do I have to upgrade to 2023 update before upgrading to the 2024 one ? The 2024 update is much lighter (only 29GB) than the 2023 one . Thanks in advance
