I guess I was hit with the mystery update last night. Everything was reset to stock. I had to go through initial settings (language, driver name, radio presets) but it never listed any update info. It was a nice refresher on where my settings are located. The only change I noticed were the new listed languages.

I've seen lots of posts on Facebook this morning indicating the same. Everything reset, dash set to white, etc. I still haven't received this latest OTA update (didn't expect to, as I no longer have Ultimate, but that hasn't stopped others from getting it). I've intentionally held off manually updating because I've previously had issues jumping on the updates as soon as they were available. I won't be driving until noon, hoping I don't have an unexpected update and have to reset everything.

This is a separate issue and will likely be split off into it's word thread. This is nuts. Car infotainment is now disconnected from Kia Access, and I can't reconnect. All settings are now factory default. Unbelievable

Same here, This happened overnight. Among other settings I had to reestablish my driver profile and have been instructed to link to my Kia Connect account but it's not clear what the procedure is. Oddly, original seat and mirror settings seemed to remain unchanged.

I have seen a lot of reports about this. I haven't gotten the update yet. Is there a way to turn off OTA updates, so I don't right now?
Generally there will be an OTA pop up screen that requires you to start the update. If you decline it shows a nag screen each time it’s started.

First I’ve heard about an “automatic” installation. Haven’t gotten it. Will have to research the files to see what’s new.

Never seen a way to disable OTAs. Is there a fuse we can pull? I'd do without Nav/Radio if that's what's needed until this is fixed.

Saw posts on FB early this morning.
Drove, parked for 1 1/2 hrs.
Started up... CRAP. Everything reset.
Reset everything.
Stupid notifications on my phone. All push settings were restored to ON while I have most to Off. Ugh.

I used the KIA Navigation Updater to download the latest files so that I could compare them to the last update from 16 April 2024. For whatever reason it's stuck on "Preparing". Usually it begins downloading the files within a minute. Tried it 2x now, allowing it to run for 10+ minutes each time with the same result.

Last night when I opened the KIA ACCESS APP on my phone it showed a message, something like "Service is down right now, we'll be back later". It's active now however.

Our infotainment system hasn't changed, so it hasn't received an OTA update that I can tell. As mentioned, I've always received a screen prompt to start an OTA update. I always decline and do it manually. However it sounds like others are getting an OTA update without any input.

I've never had any problems with the Navigator or KIA Access Apps previously so something's going on.

EDIT: After a very long wait the KIA Navigator App just began downloading the files. I'll report back with a comparison to the previous update shortly.

Can anyone that's received the "new" infotainment unit update in the last 24 hours or so please post which version your system is on now, or post a screenshot like the one below?

TIA!

No prompt to update now or later...
No change in the version... just a fat finger update from Kia or a disgruntled software engineer.

Thanks for that. (y) Files are still downloading so I can compare them.

This makes no sense other than my previous WAG, that the latest update is a prerequisite for the next update due in June sometime.

Time will tell I suppose.

The navigation files that are available on the KIA Navigation Updater that I just downloaded, 23 May 2024 are identical to those that were published 16 April 2024. Of course that doesn't mean that the files they pushed OTA in the last 24 hours are the same, but odds dictate that they are.

Of course that doesn't answer the "why did they do this?" question, but it seems like it was probably unintentional.

Seems like the Kia Connect app is down at the moment for at least some people (myself included). Possibility related?

I not sure if my car received a new OTA software, but yesterday more when I started the car, it had lost all the user related settings and the display changed to white. I had to recreate the user profile and add all the settings back

Exactly what I saw, and apparently many others. I'm still encountering features that are specific to my profile that need to be changed.

Judging by FB there seems to have been quite a few people who were stung by yesterday's profile glitch, and not just EV6s. It's been over 24hrs. It's rather poor form for them to not to have made some kind of announcement, letting everyone know it's not a problem with their car, or at least an apology for the inconvenience.
