Download the update to the mem stick. Then open the mem stick in file Explorer on a PC. Unzip all the Zipped folders to none archived folders keeping the folder names and contents intact. Then delete the original archived zip folders, eject mem stick and take to the car, start the update and put the car in utility mode and wait approximately 2 hrs. Cheers to the original poster of this solution. Tim

Right, I have managed to sort the issue out for myself, and have just completed the update on my car. This is what I did. When you download the software onto your usb, it all has to be on the root of the USB and not in a folder. You will notice, as in the pic below, there are I think 16 Compressed/Archived folders. Individually extract these to each individual folder, copy these new extracted 16 folders onto your USB and now delete the original 16 Compressed/Archived folders from your USB. It would appear that the car doesn't recognise these Compressed/Archived folders, so by extracting them the car can now read them. Then go ahead and update with the USB in the car. Hope this helps.

Thanks for this info. I succeeded after several try's. Also have to use my laptop win11, instead of my PC win10.

Update happened on Friday. It will only download OTA when the car is running. Once it is downloaded it will install without the car running. I did see an improvement with charging preparation on my road trip on Saturday. I put in the EA destination and watched the battery prep using KW while I was driving there and when I plugged in went up to 170 plus within thirty seconds.

I got the screen that shows Details or Close. Assume that the update came OTA. Not sure if related, but right after, traffic flow behaved strangely. We were on a trip to Bay area and the traffic would show and then go away. It would stay off for several minutes and then briefly show again. This repeated over and over for a couple hours. Then close to home the traffic flow stayed on.

The update took 4.5 hrs to complete, probably due to our rural cell service. So far the only difference I seem to notice is a slight improvement in the Meridian audio but I haven't done much snooping around.

Glad to hear someone else thought that the Meridian audio sounds better.....I thought I was just hearing the improvements as just a dream, on my part.... At least in my vehicle, I noticed a bit of new-found bass and more clarity in separation: and, these are long ago downloaded files, so there was no change, there. Actually some bass, too, on some songs where it was not present much, at all, previously. I need to go in and check the settings now that you hear improvements, too.

Thanks for sharing that.

Interesting!
A better "fix" (assuming the ambient noise floor cannot be reduced, which is the best fix) would involve recalibrating, reducing the effect of, or completely disabling RE-Q. Perhaps such options could be included in a future software release?
