Just saw on another part of this forum that the new navigation update will not be available for the older (I assume 2022, 2023) EV6s. Anyone have any info on this, is it true?

With the navigation updates practically being non-existent, the app is getting more and more outdated as time goes on. This in turn makes enabling pre-conditioning more difficult. My hope is that they will simply push one last update to give us a pre-conditioning button but no more map updates, and everyone will just settle on Google/Apple maps.

I wouldn't put it past Kia in seeing them do this--they'll make the manual battery preconditioning function available in the next Gen5W nav/infotainment update but it can be activated in the menu only if you are subscribed to one of the paid Kia Connect plans. Think it sounds farfetched? Kia already does something like this with the Red Light Camera menu setting--you can view it in the infotainment menu but you can't access any of its settings unless you are subscribed to one of the paid Kia Connect plans.

I do not think that the app itself is so bad. Not Google Maps but as OME navigation goes not bad. What bothers me is that you cannot use a simple voice command to find an address unless you have the most expensive Kia Connect subscription. You can use commands based on name like "go home" or "go to work" if you have those stored but if you want to go to a new address you have to enter it. On my old Hyundai 2013 Elantra I could use voice commands, same on my Mazda 6 without paying $200 a year. If I am wrong on this please correct me
