OEM hitch depth

Hi!
We just got our EV9 (2025 land plus) and are planning to install the OEM hitch in the hopes of being able to use a large bike carrier, namely the Velocirax 5.

The three requirements for the bike rack compatibility are for the hitch receiver (1) to be class III, (2) to have a 500 lbs tongue weight capacity and (3) to have at least 3 3/8" of depth past the hitch pin hole of the hitch receiver.

Requirements (1) and (2) are met, but I could not find anything about (3).

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Without the "self leveling suspension" I'm reading that the max tongue weight is 200 lbs, and max towing capacity is 2000 lbs. Do you know anything about that?
I sure hope that's not true!
I had read that both the Land and the GT trims were good for 500lbs of tongue and 5000lbs of towing. Basically due to the 4 wheel drive (instead of the self leveling suspension).

Please note that 5000 lb. max only applies if the trailer has its own braking system controlled by the driver. Also, the car must be equipped with the factory tow package and have the self-leveling rear suspension. Without the latter your towing capacity will be the lower number, even if the EV9 is an AWD model.
What about the tongue weight?
I have a land AWD without the self leveling suspension, but I only ever intend to use a bike carrier or hitch "box" carrier. Would it still be rated for 500lbs of tongue weight?

Recommended tongue weight is typically considered to be about 10% of trailer weight, so a 5000 lb trailer could have a max. 500 lb tongue weight. Since your car is not equipped with the optional rear suspension, recommended tongue weight would be 10% of what is advertised as your allowable towing capacity. If you've found that to be 2000 lb. as some have stated, then you can load 200± lb. on the hitch tube.
Thank you for taking the time to repond.
Your arguments are reasonable.
I don't want to risk anything so I just called the two biggest dealers in my region.

Both said that it's not ecessary to make changes to the "stock" suspension in order to tow the maximum 5000/500lbs figures on the 4wd.

When pressed about a cost to add the self-leveling suspension, one dealer said it would be complicated, possibly not an OEM approved solution, and be very costly because it would require may hours of labor.

I was hoping it would be possible to just swap the part with the one from the GT line, but it seems not.

Again, thank you for pointing out your concern about the absence of the self-leveling suspension. If you have any other information regarding this topic, I will gladly like to know

Regards,
A moderately concerned ev9 owner
