It will give you an extra 56mm without the sunroof. I test drove one without a sunroof, but on pictures i looked like i takes up a lot of headroom. So i drove 90km to another Kia dealer, to sit in a car with a sunroof, and i opted to not have the sunroof. I can live without the Head-up, i can't live without enough headroom :)
Thanks - exactly what I wanted to hear. At 6'4" / 193cm, I had to position the seat very precisely and still was very close to the inner side of the opening. Same as you, I can live without the GT Line-S extras (would have liked some of them, though :( ) but headroom is vital!

(will put the money saved towards Yacht Blue paint and a heat pump!)

I often put on a cap when going out of the house, so i put one on when i went to test the car with a sunroof. And if i tilted my head a bit back, the shade hit the roof. And i'm only 188cm.
But i'm lucky i live i Denmark. We only have one GT-line. It's AWD with all extras except 2 options. 1. Sunroof or 2. Sunroof + AR Head-up.

And Tesla Bjørn just upladed a video about the headlights, an shows the Head-up in the dark. I think i can live without it :)

Looks like he has the brightness up way too high. I had the HUD in my Hyundai Santa Fe and it was great at night when adjusted properly. I could adjust it to auto dim automatically and was never a problem.

Hello all,

Just put a deposit down on an EV6 here in Canada :) I was wondering whether anyone has information regarding a panoramic glass roof for the EV6. The Ioniq 5 marketed theirs quite ferociously, but it's pretty quiet on the EV6 front.

Based on pics, seems like only the GT has a 1/2 glass roof. Seems strange that other trims, such as the GT-line does not have any, let alone a small sunroof.
The GT doesn't have a sun roof too performance oriented. The GT line S is the one with the sunroof.

Specs change country to country. For example I think the GtLine in Ireland is quite a different spec from the UK. I know they all have heat pump in Ireland.

Although the full GT is going to be reduced sales compared to the more mainstream models, it's likely specs will vary country to country.

Personally I'd have much preferred a full length glass roof instead of the opening sunroof. The last car i had with an opening sun roof, was never opened. Full glass roof would lighten the interior of he EV6.

For anyone on here in the U.S., who reserved a first edition, have you gotten to the point where you have communicated to your dealer, have you discussed markups or mandatory add-ons ?
Lot's of people have gone over this in a few other threads. Kia corporate is trying to get dealers to deliver the FE reservations at MSRP but it's at the dealers discression.

In Renault espace I had both. Open glas window both front and back and only the front could open.
Also the opening is much bigger. Altough from the top it looks like a huge sunroof from the inside there is only a small opening.

It comes standard on the GT-line in the Netherlands and I enjoy getting the hot air out quickly, but I will miss my current sunroof and also in the back that children could look upwards as well.

I have had a complete sunroof that could not be opened in peugeot 3008 and I would never go for it again. When you are in France it's like sitting inside a solar cell... Too hot and most car manufacturers do have blinds but these do not reflect the heat...

On the subject of headroom, this is the first video I've seen that really shows it without the sunroof:

The guy in the video is 2m/6'6", and has plenty of headroom in the Air model (no sunroof) (y)

In my case I needed the 360 degree camera due to very restrictive parking space at my house, so sunroof came as part of package irrespective. I do like the option to let the sunshine in and air out. I would observe that in trying it (limited in current UK temperatures and dodging clouds) wind hammer and general wind noise seems much lower than with my previous Mercedes sunroof which disappeared into the roof rather than on top. I would suspect the fact that the EV6 sunroof slides back over the roof and is tilted results in it effectively acting as a giant version of the daft lip spoiler on the Merc and hence creates a smoother airflow over the roof

A different (aesthetic) issue with the sunroof is the fact that Kia has painted the front edge of the roof black but the rest of the roof is left body coloured, which in my case leaves two white 'teeth' either side (car is Pearl White) which I think it looks odd depending on the viewing angle. Hence as part of having the whole car ppf'd I've asked the fitter to change the rest of the roof and spoiler to black, so will post up some pictures shortly for comparison when done.

Mine is white with sunroof - I’m interested in seeing your changes.
