This poll is for owners that have had their car for at least 6 months, since for many people, the first few months are problem-free.

My vote is option E:

"A big issue that required an appointment with the dealership, but remains unresolved."

Anyone with the charger overtemp issue fit here. My car can't meet the advertised AC or DC charging rates. Living with degraded performance... it ought to be a choice, too.

That said, the car's as close to perfect as I could ask, otherwise.

I could not charge the car without restarting the charge cycles dozens of times manually. Long Story short we threatened to them using the California one and they swapped out the battery for new one on a call with only 500 miles on it. Turns out 80 of the individual batteries were completely fried and causing major computer errors. I think a lot of people on this forum unknowingly have burned-out cells and their battery pack which seem to die on the media we upon purchasing the vehicle since the defective from the factory. Notice that you can't get arrange any longer and with every charge arrange sketch shorter and shorter and you have less than 5000 miles on it you probably have burned-out batteries in the main master battery pack. Hire a private diagnostician and take Kia to court. I did and now I have a perfectly running car the charges to the full 300 mile range every time like clockwork. My battery on my 2023 Kia was manufactured in 2019 now I have a 2023 battery which is thousand times better technology and it will take a DC fast charge in about 60 minutes now. No more charging issues at all get rid of your lemon batteries all of you.

Before EV6 rollout, I put a deposit on an Ionic 5 in a town about 90 minutes away. Has it all worked out over the phone to pick up on Thursday (Wednesday was the sales guy day off). On the day I was supposed to pick it up, the sales guy called me and said the car was gone. Another guy sold t the car on the day he was off. Really upset. I got my $$ back (credit card) and started my search -- this time smarter. It was a time when the dealers had NO cars to sell. I looked up the most junior sales agent at my local Kia dealership and told him, "get me an EV6 and I will buy it". Of course, he was junior so he was working the late shift a few days later when the dealership took their initial delivery of three EV6's at 9pm (2/20/22). He called me and I drove right down arriving after the dealership closed. Worked out most of the deal right there. I drove it around the lot, but couldn't drive it more than a 3-4 MPH because it was yet "unprogrammed" and only had the ability to crawl into the service bay. The Sales guy asked me to come in the next morning at 8:30 (they opened at 9) so someone higher in the organization could not say dibs on the car. I asked for a delivery that afternoon (Friday) and they agreed. When I came to pick it up, the Sales Mgr pulled me aside and said that they had their initial delivery call with Kia that morning and they were told not to deliver any EV6's until after the Super Bowl commercials played Sunday. He relented and let me take the car...with the admonishment that, "please don't flaunt it around until after the Super Bowl...3 days away.
As for the reliability, I have about 13k miles on my EV6. Just like my previous Kia (2012 Sportage), I have had no problems whatsoever. I received the recall SW update in the first 3000 miles or so. I received the another SW update when my wife took it to the dealer to get the tires rotated (free). I have made two major modifications. I added a powered subwoofer in place of the passive OEM (that post is here with pics -- several months back) and I purchased and installed the the interior lighting kit from Kia Parts.
My biggest wish...I wish that the seats would remember their lumbar support settings -- both after a restart and when I push the Driver 1/2 button. Not a big complaint. Mine is a Charcoal EV6 Wind AWD.

13 months old - minor issues but none resolved (cause they either resolved themselves or it's so minor, no dealer is gonna take the time to resolve it)

"Issues"

  • Had the front motor grind noise during a road trip last summer but went away after a day
  • Passenger side A-pillar trim rattle
  • Creaky auto-pop out handles (There's a TSB for it but I'm debating whether I want to request it since it requires the door panels to be removed and I might end up with more rattles in the future from the removal and replacement of the door panel trims. And it seems Kia loves modular pieces, and thus it seems like the door panel will be in many pieces, rather than a few large pieces of trim)
  • Cracked radar sensor cover

One of the first 200 units in Canada. GT-Line Package 2. Currently at 23,000km.

I have enjoyed the car for 7 months and 8000 miles. Have had two major (12v dead battery and AC compressor failure) and two minor problems (amp failure and tire imbalance) that were not hard to diagnose but took a long time back and forth with KIA Engineering in Korea and long lead time on parts. Love driving the car, but it’s been at the dealership longer than I like. Doesn’t bode well for future availability and reliability. It’s got a great warranty and all but doesn’t do me much good sitting at the dealer.

I have had mine since October. I absolutely loved it until we also purchased an i4 E35. It is solid BMW
thru and thru, and was relatively the same cost. The EV6 is good, but there are a number of annoyances, the main one being the “charging failed” notice. The dealer knows this to be an issue
with the EV6 but claims they will need the car “for an undetermined amount of time to figure it out”.
I have little confidence with KIA service…”been there, done that”….

I'm having the same USB issues and drop outs. Did the fix a couple times and yes it works, but it seemed to only work for a week then needed to apply it again. People on the IONIC 5 forums think it may be a voltage thing but it's too soon to tell. The next step I'm going to try something to keep the tension off that blue cable with a tie. I would like to order a new harness and try that because my time is worth more than trying to prove it to my dealer.

Think anyone who had there car at the beginning will have more issues then new cars as the issues raised with those cars would resolve in future issues not having this issues so the newer your car the less chance of any issues.

Mine has spent a few days at the dealers for issues but then mine was one of the first.

My build date was 4/22 and I bought it 8/22. I fearfully read about all these issues with the EV6 and so far, thank God, my car has had no issues. Only have 3,400 miles on it as I'm retired and only use it for local trips.
It replaced a 2015 Tesla Model S 70D awd with first generation autopilot. Did pay over MSRP for it but was given a generous trade price about 5.5k over Edmunds. Kbb and Tesla listed.

On April 7th, I took the EV6 in for State inspection. While they had it they also applied an update. When I was leaving the dealership, I noticed the battery light was red and the car icon had an exclamation mark over it. Circled it back around and it has been in the shop since then. They are waiting for the ICCU assembly to come from the factory.

state inspection at a dealership?
so the update(which?) resulted in ICCU(what?) failure?

UPDATE:
ok, looked it up:
ICCU (integrated charging control unit) The ICCU, located under the 2nd-row seats, incorporates an On-Board Charger (OBC) and Low Voltage DC-DC Converter (LDC).
This is clearly the heart of an EV and costs a bundle, close to 2k.
