You may get a better response from a Tesla forum who may have more people with a Tesla charger.

 

If you mean Tesla Wall Charger to J1772 adapter, then yes I use that because I used to have a Tesla. Many others here also use an adapter. Mine used to have to be started by pushing the button on the Tesla connector, but the latest software fix for iccu solved that problem.

We have a Kia EV6. Wanting to get a charger to use Tesla’s charger. Has anyone purchased one?

 

I have a Tesla Tap to use with a Tesla Mobile Connector for use with 120/240 outlets.

If you're talking about trying to charge at a Supercharger, no adapter exists for any EV right now. You must download and use the Tesla app to find a Supercharger equipped with a Magic Dock, which the majority of which are only in NY with one kind of near Sacramento, CA.

 

I was trying to charge at a Supercharger. So no adapter works with Tesla chargers on the Ohio or Indiana Turnpikes? Bummer. Hadn't heard of a Magic Dock.

 

I just tested one of these inexpensive EV Dance adapters today and it worked perfectly at a Tesla wall charger. The car was charging at 9.6 KW. Just plug and play without issues.

Correct. At least not yet. In the future, that will likely change.

 

The Magic Dock is built into the Supercharger. If the Supercharger has it, it'll pop out with the charging on the NACS plug. Obviously a person charging a Tesla doesn't get the Magic Dock attached to the cord, they just get the NACS plug.
