For those of us still "waiting".....what do you folks that have 'em suggest we do "first" when we pickup the car??

I know what I'm doing when I get mine. Plugging in my phone, putting on my current favourite Soundcloud session and driving home at a rate of knots :D

Since I am only going to have 1 day with it before I have to store it for two months , MY first priority better be to fully understand the "status of charge" of the drive battery and get ready to disconnect the 12v battery. Also read somewhere "be sure to check and see if the 'mobility ki' is there!"

We've had it a few days now and have all the "important" stuff done except the ceramic coating which is still a couple days off.

1 - Figure out and verify it was working as expected with our newly installed level 2 charger
2 - Work through all the various setup personalizations (for both my wife and I)
3 - Get CarPlay working with both our phones
4 - Have window tint installed
5 - Install Dashcam
6 - Have PPF installed
7 - Apply Ceramic coating

In terms of my prep before collection, here are my thoughts:
(Apart from the obviously check-over of the car when collecting that it is immaculate, I'm going to allow 2 hours to really check everything before leaving the dealer).
1. Familiarise myself with the manual in full well in advance.
2. Once I have received my VIN/Chassis number register via KIA connect to get this up and working.
3. Check the free first year Ionity Subscription is in place.
4. Check that my Zappi installed charger is all set up and ready to go for the charging for when I get home.
5. Have first aid kit, fire extinguisher, converters for chargers ready to put in boot/Frunk.
6. Load up all Charging Apps on my I-Phone in readiness including payment card details.
7. Have rear boot heavy duty floor mat and rear seat protectors ready for installation/protection.
8. Research DashCam possibilities in advance and purchase high capacity SD Card
If I think of other things I will update but welcome comments please?

2 hours at the dealer? My guy showed me a couple of bits in the car with the spiel he's been trained for and told to do. Once that was done and I'd ignored the wrong information I couldn't get out of there quick enough.

Charger, charger , charger. Research, purchase, and installation should be your first priority. Then prowl around here and YouTube learning the ins, outs and quirks of the car.

Make a list of features, settings and capabilities you want your salesmen to review with you during delivery.

If you can't conduct a very thorough pre delivery inspection either have them write something into your contract or delay delivery until you can do so. (It was raining hippos and rhinos when we picked ours up)

Research the finance office add ons in your area before you walk into the dealership. Know what your answer is to every single add on option BEFORE you walk into the building. In our state once you sign, it's yours. There is no cooling off period or right to cancel.

Check EA and other apps to locate appropriate charging locations in your driving areas. If you are close by check them out to ensure they are actually a viable option for you.

If you have a plan to do PPF, ceramic coating, tint, etc research your local shops and get price quotes. The best shops in our area are running several weeks to a month out on appointments.

Practice your polite indifference mode for the EV sceptics in your life. Even random strangers will accost you with EV horror stories.
