the biggest thing that bothers me is that the mirrors unfold when approaching the car, but the doors do not auto unlock or lock

 

My EV6 does it.

 

I would have to say the feature I miss having the most is auto-lock when walking away from the vehicle, still don't know why they didn't include this!

 

I am happy to report there is now a plug & play solution to what has been my (and many others) biggest complaint with the car, no auto-locking doors! Check out this great video by @vaarticus which explain how it works and how to install:

 

Kia maps. I feel like even when they are accurate the voice directions give you the directions two seconds later than they should.

 

My biggest gripe is that the headlights, when on Auto, do not illuminate when the wipers are active. It was a gloomy, rainy day when driving along a motorway (freeway) when I realised that the road spray was partially obscuring the rear of the vehicles in front of me. I congratulated myself in buying a car with a large ligtbar across the rear of the car, until I realised it was not lit. It was obviously not dark enough to trip the light sensor. I then turned on the headlights, but, of course, I had to also remember to turn them back to auto.

At least the last 3 cars I have owned had this, to my mind, vital safety feature. Even having the tail lights on as part of the daylight running lights, as I believe is a requirement in Scandinavia, would be better.

All that clever electronics to monitor what is going on around the car, let alone the technology required to make the car go and stop, but it won't turn on the lights when it's raining!

 

Totally agree. It seems to be the case in most cars from Korea and Japan, judging by the fact they are mostly unlit on rainy motorways. It should at least be an option as it was on my much cheaper Ford. I think this may be a UK problem as it is mandated in other countries

 

Software stinks

 

I've always said that if I could have Tesla software with EV6 hardware, I'd be so happy. That and UWB-based digital key functionality would be amazing.

 

Frozen door handles.

 

What do you do when you come out and the handles are frozen?

 

No rear window wiper.

 

I've driven in the rain often and never missed the rear window wiper. I don't know why so many people complain about this.

 

Just want the AC charging to work correctly.

 

Make sure you are following up constantly with your dealership. You either need a new charging port and wires or a new ICCU. Don't let them push you off. I went through 4 chargers before Kia finally admitted it was the car. Don't be like me!

 

Profile switching is slow and sometimes does not fully switch between them

 

Yup, I've noticed this as well. There are times when I get into the vehicle after the wife has driven it and I've selected my profile once prompted but nothing really happens. It's especially frustrating because the seats and mirrors don't move. The one thing I've noticed is that this seems to happen if you do things too quickly after the car is started. If you wait a few seconds after the profile prompt, the car "settles down" a bit and the profile changes start working including the seats and mirrors.

 

The dang weak sound system, and the variability in quality based on inputs. My 10 year old BMW 1 series had twice the resolution, clarity and bass this car has - and it didn't matter the sound source.

 

Needs more clearance, love the car but def not anywhere close to ‘SUV status’ in the clearance department.

 

Funny, I wish the opposite. Wish it was a bit lower and more sporty. It sits up a bit high and is floaty like an SUV. (not as bad as some others though)

 

Winter range to summer range, so different, especially when traveling long distance.

 

Can’t say I have that issue, but I do have an MY23 with heat pump and 19” not 20” wheels.

What annoys me most is the blooming cloud reverse bongs, which have received complaints from the neighbours.

 

Forward collision assist and the inability to permanently disable it infuriates me. It activates when I'm already slowing and have the situation under control and throws the car around and alarms the other cars around. You have to manually turn it off every time the car is started and I will forget here and there.

 

Perhaps you should keep a bit more distance to the cars in front of you. Have you ever considered that possibility?

 

To use VOICE command on the maps requires KIA subscription. My free year expired, so now if I say "drive to taco bell" it tells me "I can't understand you, maybe a KIA subscription will help".

BS car - I KNOW you can understand me... I just ain't payin enough for you to listen

 

I paid and it still doesn't work. I just don't have the energy to call Kia Connect (so-called) "Customer Service." They are terrible.

 

The left side A-pillar in combination with the mirror creates a large blind spot when making a left turn in city driving.

 

I have the same problem, with the right side A-pillar too.

 

I have to second (third?,4th?) the missing auto door lock. After 6 years of driving my Volt, I simply can’t remember to lock the door!

 

I have 2….

1) when the wipers are on auto and on the lowest setting they swipe far too frequently when it’s starts to rain. The lowest manual setting is also too frequent!

2) When the climate is cooler and I enter car in the morning the amount of condensate is incredible. I have a sunroof and have to clear that with a towel which gets wringing wet!

 

Dash display. The speedometer reading is blocked by the steering wheel and my hand.

 

We need more adjustment on the pull out and rake on the steering wheel. Maybe a a little change in the geometry.

 

Misting up unless the AC is on - the heat pump seems to send in a lot of moisture

the screen of another car than the EV6 in the info display ! hate that one and know that's it's only an update away.

Number 2 (I know you only asked for one thing)
the rear gate have costum stop/opening height and that's awesome, but would have been great if there was a way to go to fully open without having to toggle through settings menu's for make the change.

 

The A + B pillars are pretty thick, so there's a blind spot ahead and behind. I know this is common on a lot of vehicles, but is not a great trend. The seat depth is a little short - I'm not even that tall! The lack of wireless AA/Carplay is another gripe, but that will hopefully be coming soon.

 

AMP - on second AMP replacement and it's now on National Back Order

 

What was the issue with the amp?

 

Dual function infotainment/AC screen is distracting to use. Kia should have used dedicated controls for each.
