Dealer has just called and emailed me saying my car is in production for May 2022 and will be delivered hopefully June 2022 so fingers crossed but not sure it will happen

If built in the first week of May it is possible to be delivered end of June, its a 8 to 10 week shipping time.

MIne was to arrive in Spain at the end of May. Now they have told me second week of July. With all the dates you guys are providing, not sure if my dealer is right or wrong.
As soon as its in build your dealer will be able to give you a firm date otherwise its all finger in the wind.

Just got word from dealer a few minutes ago that it is currently being shipped. Seems like the date is right after all!
Great news, they should now be able to give you full tracking details including delivery date to them.

What I understand it's that the dealer does not see any updates until the car is actually assembled. Last week they had no clue about production date. I am in Arvika.
As i understand the dealer get a quote from Kia every week with estimated times but its not before the car has gone in to production the time schedule is "verrified" as usable information.

In the UK the dealers do not get updates until the car is in production.

Might be different else where.

Hi, it may be worse. My order on 1Nov of EV6 GT Liine S AWD, scheduled delivery of March 22, has just been delayed to December!
Apparently all EV 6’s are delayed until December according to the dealership in Swansea, due to a shortage of semiconductors. I’m sceptical and wonder if anyone can confirm this, or am I being fobbed off?
They seem to be able to deliver quite a few to the USA.

There‘s also many of these components going into the new Niro🙈🤷🏻‍♂️
They‘re also launching the EV6 in India🙈🤷🏻‍♂️

It's not just Kia who are struggling. It's pretty much every car manufacturer, and it's predicted to get worse as shortages spread into Lithium, other rare Earth minerals, as well as semiconductors. On top of this demand for EV's is growing rapidly all around the world, making competition for these resources very fierce between manufacturers.

I had an email this morning from a car broker I've used in the past. While there are still deals around the only readily available stock on forecourts is from Mercedes, and it's predominantly diesels. My friend who works for Audi is currently telling customers 12-15 months for their orders for all models, EV or otherwise.

I've just had a call from the KIA dealership (Flear and Thomson, Stirling) to say that my delayed April delivery, then moved to an August date, has been further delayed until December 2022 at the earliest. What are KIA doing, as they seem to be delivering so many to the USA, that they are available off of the dealers lot with no delays to customers!!!

It really seems as if making all car sales EV only by 2030 is a pipe dream!!
