Delivery delays Europe/Sweden

21291 Views 115 Replies 38 Participants Last post by  mkrzempek
Hi everyone, I was promised delivery of my EV6 GT Line AWD in April but have now been contacted by the dealership that the car is now delayed until the latter part of June and his own statement is that there will probably be a further postponement of delivery.

Has anyone else also received this message? And does anyone have any further information on what this is due to?

Had the car over 24 hours now and absolutely love the thing!

Bad pic but at least it is on the drive!

No, good pic, as it shows it from an angle most pics don't. It looks good in black and I was tempted, but I currenly have a black car and boy does it get hot inside when left in the sun.
I ordered GTLS + HP AWD (that is, fully equipped but not GT) on 7th of May 2021. First, a full year of total radio silence. Now the car has eventually been built and shipped, with expected arrival to Finland on 3rd of August 2022. From there, expecting 1-2 weeks to delivery. The car will be about 9 moths late from the original plan. Surely, no apologies will be presented despite the huge delay. I won't be too happy for being a paying customer that Kia managed to disrespect so badly. In return, I hope that I will get the car in more mature state with all found issues fixed already before production.

As many people seem to know, delivery time is a function that is heavily dependent on trim level and location. As Finland is such a small market, global harm can be minimized by only having badly pissed customers in small and not important markets like the Nordic countries.

Ordered EV6 PLUS RWD Gravity blue back in April and still no production or delivery date. They tells me most likely in Q1 2023.
Reading here I guess I can expect that or even later.
Asked before I ordered for the delivery time since I want to try to time our current lease with this one. Told me 6 months, so I ordered the day after.
Got email almost immediately after that I could expect delivery in Q1 2023.. :cautious:

The same here i ordered my EV6 Plus RWD Yacht Blue the 4th of March 2022, promised that I would drive it in latest August 2022.
But until now total radio silence from the dealer, if I ask than I just get the answer "we do not know" and a month ago I received that it is moved to the 2023 model range but nobody can tell me a delivery date.
Frustrated that nobody can get a straight answer about delivery, if I had known this I would have purchased a Mustang Mach E.

Same here. I asked after 4 week pasted whether the car already get into the production or not but they delayed it another 4 weeks.
Dealer told me to come and check after 4 week. I have no faith that it will get into the production soon. If I go after 4 weeks, they will tell me to come after another 4 weeks.
I hope we don't lose 70k incentive, if it goes beyond 2023....

Hi AG,
I had today another conversation with my dealer, but does not get any smarter from them. The answer is still that my car with several others moved to the 2023 series and no delivery time is stated.
I start to think that KIA in general is serving the markets where they have less demands or better profits overall. There is no obligation to server steady KIA customers at all, they have a monopoly situation, and most likely nobody will cancel the orders due that the prices went up significant the last months.
Probably we will not lose the whole 70k, but 20k most likely due that the incentives will as planned go down to max. 50k. So never the less it will cost the customer money!
That's why I had the discussion with my dealer that if the car will be delivered they should take the extra cost, or at least half of it (this is my 8th KIA and the 5th for my wife from them) otherwise the next will not be a KIA again. No answer yet but he promised to think about it and come back to me.
Lets hope for the best.
PS. Try to get all or a part of the 20K back from the dealer, no you have and yes you can get!

My dealer also told me that you will receive a 2023 model year for the same money as your previous quote (if I can receive the car).
But it was before 1 of July. I am afraid to ask again if they will apply the new price or not :)

If you have an official order confirmation there will be the price of your vehicle on it, so they can never demand an extra cost for delivering the vehicle it is an official contract. So no worries about that.
Do not be to gentle with the dealer, they will earn money on selling the car, go for it if you have a contract.

I ordered a Kia Niro EV from main Kia dealer 13th May, told there was about 250 ready for sale and to be shipped over, advised would be end of July. Then got told end August. Now just been told first week in October. Delays due to a component (yet it was meant to be ready to ship) and delivery delays due to covid 🤷🏻‍♀️
I'm part exchanging my current vehicle and they've told me due to the delay they'll need to revalue it, surely that can't be right as we've agreed and signed a deal with a price for my current vehicle?

I will be trading in my car and the dealer says they won't value it until I sign off on the financing for the car - which according to them they will only do once the car is in the country.

Get a price from a few of the we buy any car types now, so you're not loosing value of the car caused by delays?

I think those companies generally only guarantee their quotes for 14 days.

Last two occasions I did an online quote for my current vehicle it had gone up £500 in 6 months with 8000 more miles so a delay might not be terrible news!

I'm hoping this will still be the case when I part exchange and people will want my diesel car.

I believe Kia re-directs the orders to another market/country according to demand or where they worry about losing their position in the country.
As I read many threads from here also from Facebook that many people gets their EV6 within 2-3 months (generally in US)!!
Like I just said in another topic, in Belgium if you order now it will be for Q3 2024 .. Insane!
Hi, I ordered my car on the 27/05/2022 and was directly told it could take 12 to 16 months delivery time.

I would have if I’m lucky get news on first months of 2023. So for me I guess waiting is the first steep
Hi!

How are nowadays the delays on Sweeden? Are anybody receiving his GTline with luxury (premium) pack?

Here in Spain there are a lot of delays regarding that configuration. We are only receiving Air (Wind) models, Gtlines (without pack) and also since november some GTs.
Yippee, EV6 GT Line S AWD ordered 22/01/2022 delivered 18/11/22. Consolation model price has increased by £3.3k between order & delivery which I don't pay AND price offered by the same dealer for my Mk2 Leaf increased by £2k over the same period. Now trying to get my head around the cabin pre-heating without charging
