Yes, the Meridian system is basically very good, it's weird that they crippled the subwoofer by under driving it and putting it below the false boot floor though. They could have ported the sound from there into the cabin at the design stage, but simply replacing the sub above the floor is an easy fix. Some Sub's like the Vibe Audio one accept speaker inputs directly which is easy to wire up.

I'm really happy with the sound now, it's way better than the BOSE system in my Porsche 911 now.

I would be interested to know how you wired it up. I am pretty happy with mine (I think I got lucky) but nice to have option for a bit more punch.

Here is my take on the the subwoofer install.
KICKER 46HS10 as many of you have found works well.
Ive wrapped it up as a cut file / project for anyone with a Shaper Origin ( or with a little tinkering, any cnc machine should work )

I just finished installing the Rockwell SS8P. I ordered the connector from SpareKorea. It arrived in 3 days. The install was faily easy. I created a bracket from 1/8" x 1 1/4" (x48" and x36") steel bars cut to size from HomeDepot that attached crosswise to the where the Meridain was (drilled holes for the bolts), then in the other direction to the Subwoofers bracket after securing the two brackets together with metal tap screws.
I hooked the power to the 12 volt outlet and added a rocker switch 12v/Off/subwoofer so I can disconnect the sub when using the 12v if needed. I ran the remote under the door trims up under the dash and mounted the control using velcro to the under and right of the steering wheel.
The SS8P puts out enough bass and sounds fine with the cover on and even through my all weather mat. I've had no overheating perhaps because the SS8P is suspended by the brackets.
The meridan itself is void of any bass. All trebble and I have yet to see any change in tone when using the controls under any setting. The only change happens when directing more sound to the rear. But this is a substancial improvement to a weak system.

Looks good

have you tried it with the back of the book floor a little bit open and the plastic cover off?

i discovered that mine sounded much better hence I moved it to the main boot so it wasn’t muffled. View attachment 12449
I removed the two removeable rectangles on that sub floor and found it helps some, thinking I might drill some holes in that sub floor to let the sond out right above the sub and would probably increase the sound more than removing the rectangles that aren't right above the sub.

I don't.

@Manticore posted this that identifies the KIA wires:

Brown Left+
White. Left -
Pink. Right+
Red. Right -

My Kicker sub has a wiring harness. From the manual:

When you posted what sub you were getting, I noticed it did not have a wiring harness only RCA/Speaker inputs?

Install was so simple of my Kicker because you litteraly just have to splice the wires to the corresponding Left/Right +/-
Thanks so much for this info. I've got my EV6 GT a few weeks ago and have been fairly underwhelmed with it and expected much more since Meridian is considered pretty high end.
I'm doing exactly what you've done...I just order the Kicker, power wire, and adapter harness. I can't wait to get this stuff and get it installed.
I'll let ya'll know how it turns out!
Cheers!

AWESOME. It is super easy. The hardest part was cutting the wood. :)

Just FYI, unfortunately the wiring harness from the Korean parts store is out of stock. I was told it could be a few weeks before they get it in.

It will be torture having all the needed parts to install except for the harness (I’d rather not cut the wires).
I ordered mine on Weds and just got confirmation that it has shipped!

Did you ever get an email when you initially placed the order? I placed mine yesterday, check the tracking and it had some info. Then when I went back in later on and checked tracking, nothing shows up. I contacted them via chat and email and they stated over chat that it was 'in process' but I can't help but be a little skeptical.

If you pull the driver you can cut the wires close to it and pull them out of the plastic box. These can be easily soldered back if you want to use the original subwoofer.
That's a great idea...I may just do that if I run into any shenanigans with that part being delivered.

Or I may just do it anyway and if the part shows up, I'll do it for my girlfriends EV6 Wind :)

Yes, I got an email order confirmation as soon as I placed the order on Weds. Then I got another email an hour or so ago today saying it had been despatched.
